Young SERA

Young SERA is the youth network of Labour’s Environment Campaign, SERA

We bring together young people across the Labour movement who care about climate, nature, and a just transition, creating a platform to shape policy, share ideas, and take action.

At a time when the climate crisis is accelerating and political engagement among young people is falling, Young SERA exists to ensure that our generation’s voice is heard at every level of Labour’s environmental agenda.

Our Mission

We’re building a home for young environmentalists within Labour, a space to:

  • Amplify youth voices in shaping Labour’s climate and environmental policy.
  • Connect young activists, students, and early-career professionals working for change.
  • Empower the next generation of green leaders through campaigns, training, and collaboration.
  • Influence politics from the inside, ensuring Labour delivers a fair, sustainable future for all.

Our Current Campaign — Our Earth in 2050

The voice of young people, once at the forefront of the climate debate, has faded from view. As the rise of Reform UK threatens our shared future, young people are being called back to action. Young SERA’s flagship campaign, Our Earth in 2050, is a movement to put youth voices at the centre of the fight for a fair, green, and thriving Britain, and to shape Labour’s vision for the world our generation will inherit.

Young Labour environmentalists across the UK are coming together to imagine the country we want to live in by 2050: one that delivers climate justice, equality and hope. Through conversations, surveys and youth-led roundtables with unions, NGOs and youth community groups, we are building momentum for real change within Labour and beyond. This will lead to a youth-written policy report, launched in Parliament in 2026, setting out a bold, hopeful vision for our shared future. We are turning ideas into action, and setting down the first milestone in a growing movement for change.
